Open Enrollment will begin October 22, 2020 and end November 2, 2020.  Benefit changes will become effective January 1, 2021

To avoid delays with the enrollment process, check your ESS password ASAP

There will be no in-person benefit meetings this year.  Instead we will have WebEx virtual meetings – you can participate via your computer, mobile phone or other electronic device; you can also join by phone. No reservations are necessary – just click the link provided, or copy and paste into your PC browser.  The final meeting is a ‘question and answer’ session with UHC, Star Robbins (Supplemental Benefits) and Horan.

2021 VOLUNTARY LIFE RULES

If you do not currently have voluntary life but would like to sign up; if you would like to increase beyond the $20k EE/ $10k SP allowed or if you would like more than the guaranteed amount of $50k for your spouse, please complete the attached EOI form and forward to the Benefits Office ASAP – it is not necessary to wait until open enrollment.   EOI Form

MEDICARE ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS – IMPORTANT NOTICE:

Those employees who are enrolled in Medicare or plan to enroll in Medicare at some point during 2021, are NOT eligible to contribute to an HSA for 3 months prior to enrolling in Medicare; therefore it is not advisable for them to enroll in the HDP medical plan for 2021.

MEDICARE CREDITABLE COVERAGE:  Both of the County’s medical plans meet the Creditable Coverage requirement of CMS.  Should you choose to continue your county coverage after becoming Medicare Eligible, the Part D penalty will not apply to you while you are covered on the county plan.  Below is a link to the notice which was mailed to your home.
