Short -Term and Long -Term Disability
- Short-Term disability begins on day 30 of an illness or injury.
- Long-Term disability begins on day 180 of an illness or injury.
- The rates are locked-in at the time you enroll (they will only increase if there is an industry-wide increase to insurance rates).
- Claim payments are made directly to you.
- Plans are paid with post-tax dollars so claims payments are not taxable income.
- If your employment ends you are able to continue coverage.
Disability plans pay a monthly income if you are unable to work due to a non-work-related illness or injury.
- Enrollment Benefits are effective the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment for all employees who work 20 hours or more per week.
