Your health and the health of your family are important and we recognize that families have different needs and priorities. Clermont County offers two excellent medical plans designed to help your budget while allowing you the care you need, when and where you need it.
Dental insurance is available through Dental Care Plus. The plan requires the member to seek services through an “in-network” dentist. There are over 1,000 dentists in the Greater Cincinnati area to choose from.
In-network and out-of-network benefits are available, however, you will receive the highest level of benefits if you use an in-network provider. The EyeMed network includes many retail stores such as: Lenscrafters, Target, JC Penneys, Sears, Pearl Vision, Wings & Associates & many independent practices.
Clermont County provides full-time employees with $25,000 in life insurance and $25,000 in AD&D (accidental death and dismemberment) coverage.
Coverage includes:
What is AD&D Insurance?
AD&D is Accidental Death & Dismemberment coverage. It provides added protection against losses due to a non-work related accident. Benefits vary depending upon the type of injury sustained. Death due to an accident could result in an additional $25,000 payout to your beneficiaries.
Complete plan details can be found in the ‘Certificate of Coverage’ (policy) document.
NOTE: You may be able to continue your coverage after your employment with Clermont County ends, by ‘porting’ or ‘converting‘ your county paid coverage.
LTD COVERAGE: (Long Term Disability).
Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage is provided for employees with less than five years of service. The plan has an ‘elimination’ (waiting) period of six months from the date you last worked due to your incapacitating illness or injury. The plan pays 60% of your gross monthly pay up to a maximum of $5,000 per month for a specific period of time based upon your individual circumstance – see the Certificate of Coverage (policy) for complete details on the timeline. This benefit is provided at no cost to you.
Employees with five or more years of service have the option of a similar benefit through the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS). Contact OPERS for details: 1-800-222-7377
